Hiii Boss... i've seen this vid before...after i read an article about this system in JOE

It has been developed by Israeli Dentists...

but as i heard that...it's not that much effective as the instrument is delicate might fracture ...and it may injure the healthy periapical tissue when it's moving as it takes the shape of a hook...

this is what i've heard from other doctors... i can't give my own opinion as i didn't try the system myself...

hope someone will explain to us more...

Few comments about the system...
1. The two report mentioned by the same authors in the JOE are still preliminary.

2. We have no direct evidence that the kinetics of healing is really postively affected as the theory of the device suggests.

3. There are important issues that are not addressed until now...for example does it increase the incidence of post op flare up? what is the seperatioin rate? what type of procedurals errors will be encountered with using it?

4. What will be the position of this method in our treatment modality? How will it affect our management of failing treatments?

5. Will there be association with spreading extra radicular bacteria by its mechanical actions.

6. will the extruded portion of the device really spin the same way as the imagination of the authors is?

Lots of Unanswered questions for now.....Let's keep an eye at it while we continue to improve our day to day strategy in managing endodontic infections.

Most people in scandinavia have a very critical view of anything being taken beyond apex. As of me, re-establishing patency is the only thing at the most that could be done with our current guidelines.

As Dr. Balto suggested above about the spinning of the device, how many of apical periodontitits lesions are perfectly positioned as a tear drop under the root in a 3d picture?
