What is the clinical significance of knowing this fact apart that fibroblasts adhere to the root surface. As far as I know, fibroblasts are excellent in adhesion..they will stick well to plastic compartments in the lab.

How about the adherence of undiffrentiated mesenchymal cells? we will need new cementum; new fibers and new bone in order to get new attachment..Dr. Dohaithem can you please share with us any info in this regards...Stem cell endo research in this aspect

Safavi et al , described the quality and quantity of cell attachment to the retrofilling materials as an indication of the material biocompatibility.
Zhu et al , suggested that cell adhesion and spreading on root end filling materials could be used as a criterion for evaluation of root end filling materials.
So, from what have been pointed previously we could say that it's not the adhesion only but the spreading with the adhesion of the cells which matters.
quote (they will stick well to plastic compartments in the lab) yes they do but do they spread too because it's well known that adhesion and spreading of the cells on a material surface are the initial phase of cellular function.
Regarding Stem cell in Endo research, i'll do my home work and soon i'll post all the info i can get.
Thanks Doc
